    How does it work?

    Whenever you're online, Data Deposit Box backs up your data automatically. There are no procedures to follow. No Schedules to set. You can never miss a backup window.

    Throughout the day Data Deposit Box watches your files, looking for changes. When a change is detected, our backup engine extracts the changes, compresses them, encrypts them, and securely transfers them to our secure data center.

    Once at the data center, your data is stored in this encrypted form. We use the strongest encryption available to ensure that your confidential data is kept safe and secure. Even our administrators do not have the ability to access your data. Your privacy is important. Your data can only be accessed by you.

    How secure is my data?

    All data being backed up is compressed and encrypted before leaving your PC. Data is stored at the data center in this encrypted form. Authentication traffic between your PC and the data center is also encrypted. Restores via the web interface are protected using encryption. Data Deposit Box uses only the best encryption technology available.

    At no time will usernames, passwords or data be sent out over the Internet in unencrypted form.

    Where is my data kept?

    Your data is kept in a state-of-the-art data center alongside the systems of several telephone and communications companies. This highly secure physical infrastructure includes several levels of access control and round-the-clock security officers. Your data is stored at Acpana's data center and only you have access. All data stored at the data center and any communication with the data center is two-way encrypted.

    Can I backup more than one PC?

    Yes. We do not charge for the number of PCs you back up. You only pay for the storage they use.

    Online data is stored in separate volumes that are sorted by PC name and drive letter. If you have a similar file with the same name on more than one PC, there is no danger of the files overwriting each other.

    What operating systems are supported?

    The Backup Client will run on any version of Microsoft Windows from Windows 95 onward. Macintoshes can run the client using Windows emulation software, such as Virtual PC, or they can use a PC to do the backup through a mapped drive letter.

    How do I create new email or ftp accounts?

    No problem, just login to your own personal control panel at http://www.YourDomain.com:2082 or http://www.DigitalVault.biz:2082 and enter your username and password you received with your subscription.

    How do I get my website on the server?

    You can upload your files using your favorite ftp client, or your web browser. Upload your files to ftp://yourdomain.com, or ftp://digitalvault.biz using your username and password.

    Sub domains can take up to 24 hours from time of creation to update on our servers.

    Try setting your ftp client to active NOT passive mode. Consult your program's help file for instructions.

    How do I access my email remotely?

    Type http://yourdomain.com/webmail into your browser, where yourdomain.com is the address to your website. You will be prompted for your username and password. Use your email address and email password.

    What is a web template?

    A web template is a web page without any content, similar to other kinds of templates you may have come across (such as document templates in a word processor and greeting card templates).

    However, all templates share a common purpose: to quickly get you started on your project. For websites, designing an actual layout can take awhile, and actually coding the layout in HTML can take even longer. Using a pre-made web template takes care of these layout issues, giving you more time to focus on the content of the website.
